Sergey Shakaryants’s assessment to François Hollande’s call: “The price of the statement is zero.”

January 29,2014 18:31

“Empty call and statements are tiresome, and I do not believe in Hollande, who for decades has kept not only all French Armenians in deceit, but also all Armenians across the globe. In addition, we know very well how he treats the Armenian issue and have practically seen it. As for the law criminalizing the denial of the Armenian genocide, it is already the third year that the trickery is continued, the French allegedly had found an obstacle, and he as president could not pass it. Now, he has gone to Ankara and made a call that what, when and he has not passed the law”, – said Sergey Shakaryants, in the conversation with Aravot.am, commenting on François Hollande’s call made during his visit to Ankara to the Turkish government to recognize the Armenian Genocide. As formulated by Sergey Shakaryants, François Hollande’s call is a zero statement and it will give nothing to us, “It may give something just in one case and it is when he recognizes the law criminalizing denial of the Armenian genocide and it would have political cause-and-effect relation, but empty calls are just disgusting. The price of this statement is zero, because for decades many such calls were made. No criminal repents for his deed and does not admit his guilt, Turkey treats like that. Turkey will not be affected by these and other calls, but the sanctions that the Eastern world is applying against this-or-that country, however, France has never been willing to impose sanctions against Turkey.” Sergei Shakaryants also came up with his call, emphasizing, “I urge Armenians to forget that France will do something, because if it wanted to do something in favor of Armenians, it would have been done it long ago.”
