Rule of Law has decided to organize discussions about the new law acting in Russia since January of this year. This was stated today by Hovhannes Margaryan, Rule of Law party member, expressing his concerns about the new law, according to which the citizens of Armenia are deprived of the right to freedom of movement in Russia. Hovhannes Margaryan also informed that the National Security Council Secretary Arthur Baghdasaryan has already sent a note to Russia asking for a change in something prior to Armenia’s final joining the Customs Union. In this respect, in the conversation with Aravot.am, head of the Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor office, Artur Sakunts, said, “In compliance with the amendments of Russia’s Law on Migration, the citizens of countries who go to Russia for migration work for gain their vital means, these countries are tried to be suppressed by the new legislation, so that these countries are included in Putin’s plan of the Customs Union. The law was followed by two responses made by the authorities of Armenia: one of them was the reaction of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia. The Foreign Minister believes that Russia will make an exception for the Republic of Armenia, since the latter is a member of the Customs Union, and the other was the Security Council Secretary Artur Baghdasaryan’s response who had turned to his Russian colleague with a request of making exception for the citizens of Armenia.” As said by Artur Sakunts, it is interesting that the question is not put of what changes to make in our own country, so that the citizens will be able to solve their vital problems within their own country: it is the small business, change in monopolistic situation of economy, justice and so on, but simply are showing their own idleness with such approaches. “And not only their own idleness, but the irresponsibility and contemptuous attitude towards its own citizens. They see the option of solution by sending their citizens to slavery, they encourage emigration, and by doing it they demonstrate their inability, contempt and irresponsibility. Essentially, the functions which they need to undertake to change the situation in the country, they fail to do it, in other words, the problems are resolved through other countries. In short, they have completely accommodated within the framework of the Customs Union and have chosen the option of solving all the problems through Putin’s Russia.”
