“Once again the authorities are exerting illegal moves, resorting to violence, and the peak of illegality is that the lawyer at the moment cannot enter inside and provide legal assistance to young people”,- informed Vladimir Karapetyan, President of ANC Foreign Affairs Committee, from the Police Main department. As we have already informed, the police detained the ANC activists from Mashtots avenue while distributing leaflets informing citizens about March 1 rally: Hayk Petrosyan, Areg, Sarkis, and Ani Gevorgyans, Sergey Gasparyan, and David Vardanyan. Mr. Karapetyan said the following regarding the incident, “Clearly provocation happened and according to the videos, people in civilian clothes tried to prevent the rally about the awareness, and the police, instead of arresting the group informing about the rally, exerted force against journalists. And the peak of illegality is that the lawyer, Vahe Hovsepyan, who at the moment is near the police station building, is not allowed to enter inside and provide assistance. The police have illegally taken the phones of detained young people.”
