Yesterday, by the alert call from the ANC activists, Quick Response Department of HRD office also went to the Police. Armen Grigoryan, Head of the said department, in the conversation with us, told that in the beginning they were obstructed to enter the Police. “20 minutes late they let us to go up and meet with the head of the police department.” According to him, the problems arose when they demanded the police to show the register of people detained to the Police, and only after delayed unexplained reasons, it was submitted to the members of the group. As said by Mr. Grigoryan, the ANC members refused to present the members of the group about the violence exerted against them.
“Perhaps, the reason was that everything was over and the activists believed that there is no need to tell them. The activists did not tell us anything about the violence that we would demand an explanation from the police officers. The lawyer was engaged in examining the case, the progress will be published.” As for the spank of the police officer to journalist Ani Gevorgyan, Mr. Grigoryan said that if there were such a thing, it at least can be viewed as exceeding the official authorities, “which is a crime.” To remind that yesterday the youth of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) informing about the planned rally on March 1 were detained to the police station on suspicion of hooliganism.
