Under the judge of the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Arabkir and Qanaker-Zeytun Administrative Districts, Simizar Hovsepyan’s proceeding, the appeal of Narine Tigrani Sargsyan and Hrant Rafiki Suvaryan against Susanna Davtyan, Lemberik Khachatryan and the third person Aravot Daily to meet the claim of reimbursing the damage caused to honor and dignity is accepted. Narine Sargsyan is the current Prime Minister’s daughter, the latter’s father-in-law, Hrant Suvaryan, is the Head of Financial Supervision Department of the Central Bank of Armenia. Anahit Sargsyan, member of RA Chamber of Advocates, is their representative at the court. Today, the court has sent the media an envelope with the decision on accepting the proceeding, as well as disputed publication and the claim. Plaintiff’s representative informed that in Aravot online newspaper, dated February 7, the publication of “The Prime Minister’s daughter and her father-in-law have owned my property” says, “Citizens Susanna Davtyan and Lemberik Khachatryan are telling how the Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan’s daughter and her father-in-law, the Head of Financial Supervision Department of the Central Bank of Armenia, Hrant Suvaryan, had illegally owned their stone building.” “The RA Prime Minister’s daughter and her father-in-law owned my property. It seemed to me that he as a Prime Minister and a person fighting against corruption, should give process to this case, and said, ‘my dear daughter, my dear son-on-law, lessen you appetites. That’s why I sent a letter to him, but no response.” Aravot.am’s next interlocutor, Hrant Suvaryan, in the conversation with us, rejected that he is associated with Khachatryan’s stone building. “This land has absolutely nothing to do with us, it is the neighbor’s land, we have nothing to do with it. The adjacent house to this land belongs to my son, whereas Lemberik Khachatryan’s stone building, the garage, is located on the land belonging to his neighbor, Arthur Khachatryan. They had agreed with us long ago about the construction, now I do not know what problems have arisen, the problems are in them. We have no connection with it.” Plaintiff has also made quotes from Aravot print publication of “Has Prime Minister’s daughter’s father-in-law seized a piece of land” dated February 8. It also states that citizens are telling how the Prime Minister’s daughter’s father-in-law has illegally owned Susanna Davtyan’s and Lemberik Khachatryan’s stone building. According to the appeal, the plaintiffs: the Prime Minister’s daughter and her father-in-law, are the “accusations recipients”. “N. Sargsyan is married with two children and such information is discrediting her honor and dignity,” is stated in the appeal. With regard to Suvaryan, there is the following idea in the appeal, “Disclosure of such information may distort the perception of the surrounding about her personality and discredit her honor and dignity.” Plaintiffs are demanding to deny the extended “disinformation” to be presented during the hearing, to compel the respondents to pay compensation of 300 000 drams to each plaintiff for defamation, and the amount paid to the lawyer, at 250 000 drams by each contract. Note that in these two publications of Aravot present the arguments made by the protesting party, as well as counter-arguments of the other party.
