Yesterday, local government elections were held in 40 communities of Armenia, in which ANC did not participate. To the question of Aravot of why you are so unserious to LGU elections, Levon Zurabyan, leader of ANV faction, on March 10, answered in question, “Are we unserious?”
Later, continuing, our interlocutor noted the current authorities are treating the elections unserious. “Which RPA has been turned into CPSU, which has already reached to the point that as in good Soviet times every school principal is a Republican. And not only the schools’, but with using the resources of all other institutions, are fabricating all elections. Well, they are unserious about the Constitution and the laws.”
To the observation of that since one of the main problems of the ANC is the change of power in Armenia, why no attempt is made to apply the option of change of power from the bottom, via local government elections, Levon Zurabyan responded, “Because the option of changing the power from the top is effective for us.”
