“Is Levon Ter-Petrosyan or Raffi Hovhannisyan poor?” Political scientist

March 13,2014 14:04

In the conversation with Aravot.am, the political scientist Gagik Hambaryan advised not to be surprised at the estate of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, since the Ukrainian oppositions do not less amaze us with their wealth. “Have they seen the houses of the same Ukrainian oppositions that are now surprised? Have they seen the same Yulia Tymoshenko’s more than 10 mansions in Ukraine and outside of Ukraine? Or, Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s mansion? Or, Tigipko’s mansion…?” Drawing parallels between the Armenian and Ukrainian oppositions, Gagik Hambaryan noted that the Armenia opposition figures are still quite rich. “What does not Raffi Hovannisian or Levon Ter-Petrosyan, or ARF have? All of them have a lot. Only Levon Ter-Petrosyan is clever that no one knows what he has. It’s true when he says that he does not even a single kiosk in Armenia. But, why is it necessary to have a kiosk in Armenia? He is a smart man, he knows where and how much he has. He, roughly speaking, does not need to demonstrate his property, it is not necessarily at all. Our opposition is quite wealthy, there is no such a thing that it does not have. Who does not have? ARF? They are sponsored from abroad. However, the matter here is the following: if the president of Ukraine or its opponent forces, which once were in power, have it, it is still understandable, although I am not saying that they did it right, they plundered, however, if Yanukovich and these same forces have all what Armenian minor oligarch has, the scales of Ukraine and Armenia vary so much that we must conclude what robbery is taking place in Ukraine, and what in Armenia,” says the political scientist.
