Aravot.am asked the Director of of the Inter Church Office of the Holy See Etchmiadzin, Hovakim Bishop Manukyan, to comment on the statement made by the Head of the Tibet Center, Eleonora Manandyan, at the press conference that a letter has been sent to His Holiness regarding the visit of the Tibetan Lama, and Bishop Hovakim had accepted them and promised to duly host the monk. “Frankly speaking, it was a surprise for me that the details of our conversation had appeared in the media: how I have met with Eleonora Manandyan, and had really an interesting conversation, that they had sent a letter, and I had to find out the details for answering the letter. She had informed that the Tibetan monk is arriving in Armenia, and possibly will visit Etchmiadzin. And I had answered that when he will be visiting Etchmiadzin, I will meet with the monk, and there is nothing extraordinary in it. Representatives from different religions are always visiting Armenia and expressing desire to visit Etchmiadzin, we do not see any problem here. The problem, however, is that I had not promised to host him since we have our own facilities and approaches of hospitality,” said the Bishop.
