The RA Foreign Ministry is checking the information on the victims in the Armenian-populated settlement
The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov posted on his Twitter page, which says that “the case of execution of Armenian residents by assailants in one of villages of Syria should be investigated. It is necessary for the UN Security Council to promptly discuss the situation.” Aravot.am asked the RA Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tigran Balayan whether the RA Foreign Ministry is informed that Armenians were killed, about which the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister is posting. In addition, the Russian “Kommersant” newspaper, in its turn, had stressed that “according to official data, 80 people have been killed in Kessab.” We also asked Tigran Balayan to explain about what cases of executions the Russian official and Russian mass media are talking about. The RA Foreign Ministry Spokesman gave the following answer, “We are checking the information on the victims of Armenian-populated settlement in Kessab.”
