“We have always been a supporter of cooperating with various political forces. We want it now, too, but they do not want. However, it is not that we’ve fallen into a very bad and difficult situation and we are left alone,” so responded RPA MP Sukias Avetisyan in the interview with Aravot.am on April 17, in response to the question of whether RPA had appeared in a difficult situation of staying alone after the political divorce with RoL party and after the ARF’s statement of not constituting a part of the government. We inquired whether the RoL party’s statement was a surprise for him, Sukias Avetisyan responded, “It was not a surprise for me but amazing, because it was a normal process within the coalition, and it was completely amazing for me”. To our question that Heghine Bisharyan had said that they would join the opposition to start criticizing RPA and Serzh Sargsyan, whether it would not be considered betrayal, Sukias Avetisyan said, “Let them decide what to do with the opposition. Let them decide who the ultimate opposition is.”
Sukias Avetisyan confirmed that Artur Baghdasaryan and Serzh Sargsyan had a very warm personal relationship, so, in that sense, Arthur Baghdasaryan’s move as such was very amazing for him. We also clarified that the ARF made a a decision not to constitute a part of the government, in fact, with regard to portfolios they failed to agree with Republican Party, Sukias Avetisyan answered, “They may not constitute a part of the government, but to cooperate on some issues, today, it cannot be accepted definitely. They do not want to be in the executive body, but there is a great field for cooperation.” With respect to the former RoL party ministers’ holding their offices, Sukias Avetisyan said that it can be discussed when the new government will be formed.
