Vazgen Sargsyan did not also want to become Prime Minister, or Serzh Sargsyan wants to remain in the history

April 18,2014 20:59

“I think that after Serzh Sargsyan’s these words, it is impossible to serve all constitutional amendments for this purpose”, so responded publicist Karine Hakobyan to the question of Aravot.am of whether the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan initiating the Constitutional amendments is planning his political career, particularly in terms of working in the position of the Prime Minister in the future. Ms. Hakobyan also emphasized that she believe in Serzh Sargsyan’s words and reminded, “Serzh Sargsyan stated that he does not have such desire. I always believe, the word has value for me.” However, Karine Hakobyan notices haste in the process of implementation of Constitutional amendments. Our observation of whether such haste does not indicate that Serzh Sargsyan, anyway, has some plans, Ms. Hakobyan responded, “In terms of Constitutional Amendments, haste is not acceptable. Haste will prevent finding the best solution. And we no longer have time to make mistakes. If our Constitution needs amendment, we need to really amend our Constitution and laws. I do not want to believe that after such a statement, it is still possible to make the Constitution serve for the personal purposes, as Serzh Sargsyan has explicitly announced throughout the nation.” On this occasion, Ms. Hakobyan recalled the previous experience when the words and actions of politicians do not match. “Vazgen Sargsyan was saying that he does not want to become prime minister, but became. But, now, the statement sounded with another seriousness, I think Serzh Sargsyan has a different purpose, and one of them is to remain in the history. This is his last term in the office, and now there is no greater benefit than leaving the office, leaving a developing country for his children and family to be able to continue living happily. Therefore, the country needs to be healthy and developed.” To our question of whether you think that Serzh Sargsyan also has the same way of thinking, Ms. Hakobyan responded, “I think, yes.”
