“The hundredth anniversary of the Armenian Genocide is not the end-point in the Armenian-Turkish relations. It is an opportunity for Turkey to recognize the Genocide, and thus solve the problem of development and progress for its citizens,” opines representative of National Congress of Western Armenians, Karen Mikaelyan, during the round table discussion on “The Perspectives of Justice for Western Armenians” organized by “National Council of Western Armenians” and “Union of Heirs of Western Armenians”. The speaker is convinced that without the recognition of historic justice, Turkey cannot unite and bring its society to complete development. Turkey’s adopted policy is unacceptable for the National Council of Western Armenians by conditioning the Armenian-Turkish relations with Armenian-Azerbaijani relations since they are different processes. The representatives of the National Council of Western Armenians find that Armenia, in addition to voicing about cultural relations, when talking about recognition of the Genocide should have courage and discuss also the issue of eliminating the consequences, since without elimination of consequences, no problem can be solved. The representative of Union of Heirs of Western Armenians Aragats Akhoyan noticed that one should be brave and bold for the sake of peace and discuss all complicated issues at the round-tables.
