April 30,2014 15:28

“It is impossible to voice a hope with this government, as well as with the previous one. This is Serzh Sargsyan’s government,” such view was expressed by the spokesperson of Heritage party, Hovsep Khurshudyan, on April 29, in the interview with Aravot.am, referring to the new government. To our question of, in other words, whoever was appointed a minister, it would be difficult to expect significant improvements, Mr. Khurshudyan responded, “Yes, as long as the system is not changed, and no legal and legitimate government is formed, there cannot be any positive changes. In addition, the slight personnel changes that were done, have been done more to the negative side than the positive. So, we cannot expect any positive changes.”

A wave of dissatisfaction was raised particularly with the re-appointment of the Minister of Culture, Hasmik Poghosyan. To our question of whether he has any reservations with regard to the new ministers, Mr. Khurshudyan responded that he does not want to g into details and discuss anything with regard to specific ministers, most importantly is the overall visible picture. “I do not think that this government will be able to cope with the problems facing the country.” The President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan has stated at the Central Bank that “The new government must be able to ensure economic growth, continuity of reforms, the new government should be able to restore our citizens’ confidence in the reforms and its activities. These are the minimum issues that the new government should be able to solve. I think that there will be significant changes in the government. There is a need also to view the existing problems and sectors with a new eye.” According to Mr. Khurshudyan, Serzh Sargsyan’s promise will remain a mere promise.
