“I hope I’ll get out from here pretty soon and will live like a civilian” informed Harutyun Injighulyan, brother of the Armenian POW Hakob Injighulyan detained in Azerbaijan, that yesterday they received a letter with this content from Hakob.
Recall that on 30 April, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) representatives visited the Armenian POW Hakob Injighulyan’s and other five other civilians, the Gevorgyan family, detained in Azerbaijan.
The letter was transferred to Injighulyan family by the translators of the Red Cross Armenian representation, therefore, the family members had no other news about Hakob. In the letter, Hakob as always wrote that everything is OK, simply he want to get out from the place where he is detained pretty soon. Hakob’s brother, Harutyun, noted that it is a secondary issue for them where Hakob will go, number one priority is to get out from there. We were interested to know whether appropriate work is conducted to return Hakob to his homeland, Harutyun Injighulyan answered, “The two organizations, the United Nations and the Red Cross, are working, we can neither underestimate, nor overestimate their work.” We asked about their opinion on the attitude of the RA authorities, Harutyun responded, “We have no hope from the RA authorities, and we do not expect seeing any assistance from them as they are unable. I would say the same about the attitude. Until now I have not noticed any interest from RA authorities in Hakob’s case.”
