Vahagn Hovnanyan about Robert Aharonyan. “I just feel sorry for him”

May 12,2014 16:23

“Of course, I have said, “Leave Armenia, get the hell out to your country,” so responded the leader of the “Armenian-Russian Union”, former Progressive Socialist Party leader Robert Aharonyan, to the question of Aravot.am of whether he was right to curse the activists in Gavar who were fighting for gender equality. Recall that in the 2013 presidential elections, one day prior to his running for President, Robert Aharonyan, after the lawsuit in Gavar against the accused 33-year old Sargis Hakobyan for beating his wife over 9 years and causing her psychological and physical pain, expressed irreverent against the activists in the courtyard. In the conversation with us, Robert Aharonyan told that a wrong video is disseminated on the Internet and urged to watch the video, which shows how he was “terribly” cursed. Robert Aharonyan told that when he was interviewed in the courtyard, “these women had approached him, and casted different replicas,” he asked them to behave properly. Then he noted that a boy and girl were kissing in the courtyard and “less was left for them to do something else,” hence, he had urged them to to behave properly as they were “in the center of the village, in front of the court.” To our question of whether it was true regardless of swearing, Mr. Aharonyan responded, “What does it mean to swear, if I had sent him to some address, is it a curse? By the vocabulary of going fairly quickly from here, is it a curse? You are only looking at one side. Anyone who destroys an Armenian family and introduce a gender equality in Armenia, let him go away from here.

Do you think that the introduction of gender equality is a correct behavior and it is wrong for the leader of the socialist movement to say this gender, get out of Armenia fairly quickly? It is a vocabulary and I am showing the direction to go. I am against the gender equality, these people must be evicted from Armenia.” Mr. Aharonyan noted that he bows before the Diaspora, who are thinking of strengthening Armenia, he even takes his car to a Diaspora master for repair.

And the Diaspora, who are destroying the Armenian family, according to Aharonyan, they should be evicted from Armenia. The singer Arsen Grigoryan (Mro) who had come from the Diaspora and resided in Armenia responded to such behavior as follows, “I am totally against separation, making our people sectoral, we are one people. For me, Armenian is an Armenian, and it does not matter in which maternity hospital he was born. First of all, everyone should be filled with love towards each other, and all our problems are solved, and it is not by calling or doing anything else, we must love one another.”

A Diaspora businessman and benefactor Vahagn Hovnanian said with this regard, “If this man has a heart and brain, you should ask him, do not ask me about such inhuman feelings. I should not comment on it, I just feel sorry for him. It never occurs to my mind that this is an Iraqi-Armenian, another Persian, and the other Yerevan-Armenian. We are all God’s blessed people. We have no right to give a sign to each other of who we are. We all are born with both parents and are called Armenians. If they do not know this beauty, it’s their problem, and not the people’s.”
