Currently, the checkpoint “Verin Lars” on the Georgian-Russian border is closed because of the landslide. But, even before that, it was closed for many Armenians. The inhabitant of village Voskevan, Tavush Marz, S. M. informed us that on May 9, at the Verin Lars checkpoint, the frontier guards disallowed 7 passengers from their bus to go to Russia. In the city of Noyemberyan, the Voskevan inhabitant learned by having access to the computer to the website of the Embassy of the Russian Federation that he is not disallowed to have access to Russia. After that, he has also inquired at the Bagratashen Customs checkpoint and learned that he has no barrier of entry to Russia. Anyway, at the Verin Lars he was informed that he had previously lived in Russia for 3 months without being registered, therefore he is deprived of the right to have access to Russia for 3 years.
