The relatives of Hakob Injighulyan, the Armenian captive in Azerbaijan, in the coming days, are planning to find out from the “Red Cross” Armenian office about why some lines in the last letter sent by Hakob were erased. Hakob’s brother, Harutyun Injighulyan said to Aravot.am that currently two leaders of the “Red Cross” Armenian office are not in Armenia and he nowise can clarify this issue. “The person who met with us at the Red Cross office and delivered the letter was unable to give an answer. He is not a leader.” According to him, He said that the letter was whole semantic sentences are erased from the letter and they could not recover the meaning of erased rows. “I will definitely clarify it, I will not let it remain unknown of what my brother has written; he might have written a very important information for me. The Red Cross representatives always insist that they do not obstacle on knowing any information, they say that they will let us know, but it just so happens that the Red Cross is an obstacle for us to get the information.” The human right defender Vardan Harutyunyan is convinced that the “Red Cross” had no right to take on the role of editing the letter. According to him, such humanitarian organizations as the “Red Cross” or “Doctors Without Borders” should solely play a humanitarian role, but not the censor. “I do not think that in this specific case they have the right to correct, erase, and edit.”
