Earlier, we were receiving footages only from the Middle East, where on the background of the green flag, with Kalashnikov guns on both sides, a mullah was reciting militant speeches (usually against the Americans and the West), and in the end, together with the masked people, shout “Allah Akbar”. Apparently, the laurels of extreme Islamist rebels were bothering the Russian political scientist Sergei Kurginyan, and he also made up his mind to be photographed on the background of guns in Donetsk and deliver similar speeches against the Ukrainian government. True, Kurginyan is shaved, with a tie, does not wear kerchief and instead of saying “Allah Akbar” in the end, he says, “the victory will be ours.”
The main pathos of the political scientist is directed against the leader of Slavyansk armed forces, Igor Strelkov. The latter abandoned Slavyansk with his troops, in fact handing over the city to the Ukrainian armed forces. Not being a military expert, I cannot tell whether Strelkov did right or wrong from the perspective of military science. Kurginyan, as far as I know, is not a military person, but he had given his severe estimation.
The political scientist has also stated that according to his information, Ukrainian troops kill local residents in Slavyansk. It is just as questionable as the information by the Ukrainian official propaganda that their soldiers were welcomed as liberators in Slavyansk. Apparently, Kurginyan’s allegation was also exaggerated that rebels and volunteers in eastern Ukraine now have all the necessary weapons to wage “a national liberation struggle against Banderians”. To be honest, the mission of this Armenian name bearing political scientist is not particularly clear to me. He calls his transmissions from Donetsk “reportages”, but they are far from the classical characterizations of genre, which are known in the history of journalism. This is a hot propaganda by one of the parties involved in the civil war in Ukraine, which is carried out by a different country, a citizen of Russia. In fact, about Armenians. Arsen Avakov is the Ukrainian Minister of Interior Affairs, and Victor Avakyan is the Minister of Health of a self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic. It turns out that Avakov’s team is sending troops, tanks and aircraft against Avagyan’s team. I would not be surprised if they come out to be distant relatives.
