Staff commentators

July 11,2014 12:45

What does experience mean? What I feel and write now can seem immature and naive some 5 or 10 years later. Every year, every month and every day something new is revealed both in professional and non-professional fields. I want to tell you about one of my new revelations. The Russian inomsi.ru website (by the way, a very useful website, because there is an opportunity to read the Russian translation of articles published in different parts of the world) sometimes post also my articles. Looking at the comments underneath, at first, being unexperienced, I wondered why the author living in remote Armenia cause such a strong negative reaction among Russian users. But, later, I realized that my question is naive. Comparing the comments of some of my articles, without being a professional textualist, one can easily be sure that these comments are written by the same people, are using the same phrases, and in fact, are giving the same estimates. Tell me, please, what regular reader, a user in Russia will spend time commenting the articles of the Armenian journalist using the same words. It is more logical to assume that there are staff advocate brigades who become specialized in one or the other topic and are bound to respond to relevant publications. As to what goal they pursue, I find it hard to say. To “morally destroy” the authors so that they will no longer write or write in a way as they do? Hardly. Perhaps, however, the goal is to create a public mood. It is clear that there are such staff advocates not only in Russia, but also in many other countries, including Armenia.

“Facebook”, websites and Internet, in general, seem only a collection of chaotic posts at first glance; likewise as I was thinking until I gained enough experience. There are also some guidance here, which are carried out by the professionals. To understand who guides what, of course, is difficult. The only advice that can be made is not to accept anything as smooth as butter. There are also such “staff” commentators in “Aravot” website. Judging by the attention to some of the topics, they represent the “offices” of former mayor of Gyumri and former governor of Tavush. There are also “employees” of the Customs (European) Union that are committed to “give a relevant counterblow” to each critical word addressed to the mentioned Unions or Russia. It is normal. We need also to learn the views of these “offices”.
