These days, when the 20th anniversary “Aravot” is marked, I am trying to possibly avoid unnecessary pathos and spoke about a few words the way I understand.
Love. I look at the old and new photos of Aravot staff, today’s, 5, 10, 15 years’ ago, and feel that not only I love them, but they love me too. Also, each other. I feel it by looking at the photos. Without the “likes” and comments. Aravot staffer. If there are people who call them like this and this word is pronounced with pride, with separate accentuation, then, each release of the newspaper or the website needs to be worthy of the sense of these people. Dream. That Naira and Zhenya be with us. In a sense, they are, of course, with us.
Competition. Allegedly, the wealth in this world are few and not enough for everyone, and every bite needs stretching gullets. “Hurry up, the number of readers is limited and seize away the readers from each other.” Or, even worse, “Explain to the readers that you are good and your brothers are bad.” It’s a waste of time.
Objectivity. Illusion. Man cannot be objective. He can be kind, forgiving, broad-minded and tolerant.
Independence. Again illusion. Man cannot be independent. A living man. The corpse can because it no longer needs anything. A living man can be skeptical, not of course making his skepticism reach cynicism. Struggle. The status of all times Bolsheviks. He who believes that life is a struggle has no clue about life. We should not struggle against the garbage; we should throw it into the garbage can without excessive noise.
Torment. “Well, my dear girl, you had a baby 20 years ago, now, you have to suffer all your life. This is the world it goes.” Again, from the series of “struggle”. Life is not a suffering, if we are not willing it to be so. Life is fun. Love. You give more than you take. As a result, you receive more than you give.
