“In this case, yes, the justice won. But whether confidence in the judicial system emerged or not, is hard to say with one case. In this case, justice was achieved. Whether justice will be achieved for other cases, or not … we know the state of justice or the judicial system in Armenia. I strongly doubt that confidence will be restored at once,” said civic activist, Mher Arshakyan, in the conversation with Aravot.am. Today, the RA Administrative Court issued verdicts in favor of four civic activists by recognizing the actions by the police of Yerevan city central police department unlawful and issued decision to charge 150 thousand drams fir the police in favor of the activists. Recall that the cases refer to the incidents happened between the civic activists and the police during the protest against transport fare increase held on August 24, last year. Today’s Administrative Court decision was not unexpected for civic activist Mher Arshakyan. “But, otherwise, they understood very well that they will win at the European Court, the police illegal actions were obvious,” said Mher Arshakyan, adding that he would constantly fight for protecting his constitutional rights.
