“Naturally, this tripartite meeting could not record any serious outcome. Everyone should remain to its position, which eventually took place”, said the Heritage parliamentary faction leader Ruben Hakobyan, in the conversation with Aravot.am, referring to tripartite meeting of Sargsyan-Aliyev-Putin in Sochi.
Our interlocutor specifically emphasized the fact that Russia has had a burning desire to make this meeting happen, because it was also necessary for Russia to organize the meeting in itself in the event of available competition. Ruben Hakobyan is referring to the French president’s proposal and New York’s willingness to organize the tripartite meeting. Under total isolation, Ruben Hakobyan thinks that Russia needs to show that it is not isolated, and this fact is the proof of it.
In any case, the fact that the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan are meeting, even though mediated, even though in the standard formulations, that we should try resolving the conflict peacefully, within the international norms, and eliminating the atmosphere of intolerance, is already positive.
Our interlocutor does not think that something will change substantially, because Azerbaijan has never kept any agreement. “It should just be recorded that a meeting was held, which to some extent will alleviate the tension,” said Ruben Hakobyan.
