The President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, had sent a congratulatory message to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for being elected in the office of the President of the Republic of Turkey and had wished prosperity and progress to Turkish people. Serzh Sargsyan’s message gave rise to heated criticism and was discussed at various platforms.
The former Minister of Culture, also a writer, Roland Sharoyan, in the conversation with Аravot.am, has said that he is not familiar with the text, but treat the President’s congratulation message normal. “I do not see anything wrong here, it is his neighboring country, a president has been elected, it is a protocol, an ethics that has been maintained. It’s a normal move”.
We were also interested to know from the intellectual that the Armenians around the world demand recognizing their genocide, so whether he respond adequately to the events with the Yazidis in northern Iraq. “I am not aware of how the National Assembly, the President, the government or the president have responded to the events with the Yazidis, I do not know what to say.
Generally, it should be condemned as a phenomenon, especially when a massacre of children occurred. It should be surely condemned at the state level, I am not aware of, maybe they have responded, and if not, they are wrong, it should definitely be condemned.”
