Especially this year, we are talking a lot about the possibility of war. But, willy-nilly, we must confess that Putin’s initiated tripartite meeting in August significantly decreased our fears about the war. Before that, our concerns were quite appropriate because the border clashes significantly increased, and the number of casualties were very unprecedented, in fact, the casualties of the Azerbaijani side were much more than ours, and this fact shook the Azerbaijanis and Aliyev’s self-confidence, in person. Nevertheless, Putin’s initiated tripartite meeting in August was extremely important and essential in terms of freezing the risk of the war.

We all know how big the role of volunteers was in the Nagorno-Karabakh war. No matter our defense minister and other competent officials declare that we have a serious and regular army, they also do understand that the role of volunteers would be very great in case of the unwanted war. On the background of the August meeting, it became evident that the Armenian volunteers would always be, and the self-confidence of our government officials and the defense minister is derived by this confidence.
In the past, we had a fear that the social difficulties and unequal situation currently available in Armenia can have a negative impact on the spirit of potential volunteers, but the August events showed the opposite. We pleasantly felt that many are ready for sacrifice. Moreover, also among the opposition, and no matter Serzh Sargsyan complains about the opposition, he also feels and understood in his heart that in the event of unwanted war, the opposition will not leave the government alone, and this very consciousness and self-confidence, first of all, is the inspirer of self-confidence with Serzh Sargsyan. All that I said still for not ensure us from the risk of war. Azerbaijan will continue to be armed to its teeth and get ready for the war, It does not matter whether it would be Aliyev or someone else. With the most combating army, our authorities should also do everything to compensate for our people who won in the first round of the war.
