According to political scientist Ruben Mehrabyan, Vyacheslav Kovalenko ranks his honorable place in the list of threatening. Today, on September 23, during the Moscow-Yerevan video-bridge at the “Novosti” media center, the former Ambassador of Russia to Armenia, Vyacheslav Kovalenko, announced that if Armenia does not orient correctly, meaning the Eurasian Economic Union, then it would lose not only its state, but also would stand on the verge of extinction as a nation as the result of successful initiative of barbaric Americans and Europeans. He added that the Armenian nation exists only because it has displayed correct orientation at the most crucial moments, shooting a glance at Russia.
In this regard, Aravot.am talked to expert of the “Center for Political and International Studies”, Ruben Mehrabyan. The latter mentioned that the threats from different levels of Russian government circles to Armenia are not new, and Mr. Kovalenko ranks his honorable place in the list of threatening. “The problem here is not with Kovalenko, but the problem is that there is a government in Armenia, there is a Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there is a ruling party, there is allegedly an opposition, or as they call themselves, irrgovernment or non-government or an alternative. None of all of these circles gives a response to kovalenko type of people who come here on every occasion or with no occasion and make such statements, and it goes through the media and, moreover, they do it openly without shame and without being concerned that the next time they might be thrown out from the passport control pass right at the airport and go back to their barbarian country on the same plane,” mentioned Mr. Mehrabyan. He believes that there is a need to correct this situation, otherwise Armenian would stay out of civilization. “The cause of our headache is the situation of our country, which allows people like such to come and feel them free and allow them to spread out from their mouths whatever occurs to their mind.”
