Political subversive act by PACE

October 02,2014 15:58

According to the evaluation of Director of “Against Illegal Arbitrariness” NGO, also Human Rights Defender, Larisa Alaverdyan, Armenia’s parliamentary diplomacy in the Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe (PACE) with respect to initiative is weak. She thinks that Armenia mainly acts with an initiative after the projects presented by Azerbaijan. “This time, too, more than 70 people voted against the Armenian project. And if we look at the activeness, which Azerbaijan has in the international projects, we will see that they end up positively,” said Mrs. Alaverdyan, referring to the speech entitled “The Increase of Violence in Nagorno-Karabakh and in other Occupied Territories of Azerbaijan” passed in the PACE.

In her opinion, after the approval of such a project, the delegation will come to Karabakh to once again examine the territories. “They will present the story with Azerbaijani subversives in early August in a way that these people were gone for a walk in the country areas, and the Armenian nationalists had attacked on them, and they defended themselves.” Mr. Alaverdyan qualifies the incident as a political subversive act. “This is the program that is being implemented step by step. It is a political subversive act that pursues other goals: to repeat once more that the Azerbaijani citizen has the right to walk in these areas freely, but they are prevented. And it was recorded in the PACE statement. We are not able to formulate opinions that would work in our favor of us in the future. The international practice, in the future, becomes one of the sources of law. And there is already a mistake in the title of this statement, it says, there is an increase in violence in the occupied territories.”
