The parties are against sending international peacekeeping force to the region. On September 27, at the public hearings held in the Georgian village of Tekali, we asked the Head of the Department of Sociology and Law at the Azerbaijan National Academy of Science and Philosophy, Ali Abbasov, about the possibility of war between Azerbaijan and Armenia on Karabakh conflict. He said. “In principle, this war has no chance. I do not think that someone like Saakashvili would have a desire to start a war. In fact, Saakashvili was also relying on somebody when he was starting a war.
Now, there is no one who is interested in the war to start, and no one so far would allow either party to start a war. It is proven by the events, all collisions on the border, they nevertheless occur within certain limits, beyond which the parties are seeking not to exceed. It is associated with the fact that both sides are interested in not sending other countries’ peacekeeping forces to the region. It is maintained by both partied so that we, ourselves, regulate, over 20 years the conflict has not gone beyond the limits, one way or another, therefore, the peacekeeping forces should not come here. If something more serious happens, naturally, the international organizations will sent the international peacekeeping forces to our region, which, of course, cannot be beneficial to either one. That’s why, all military events, possibly outbreaks may also occur, they will take place within certain boundaries.”
