“The delegation could be of high quality, trained, politically serious, flexible, minded people, but the result could not be different”, so responded the Head of “Christian-Democratic Rebirth” party, Sos Gimishyan, in response to the question of Aravot.am of whether the preparation of the report on Karabakh was the result of Armenia’s membership to the Eurasian Economic Union, or the result of non-professionalism of the Armenian delegation to PACE.

According to him, it was possible to present Armenia’s interests in PACE in influential words, and oppose, but the document would be the same. Mr. Gimishyan thinks that the current situation is one more proof of double standards used by PACE, that there is no right or wrong, but beneficial and non-beneficial, strong and not strong. Sos Gimishyan noticed that previously Armenia was taking favorable places in all the lists, and registering progress in human rights and democracy, because it was said for three and a half years that we are going to the EU.

Later, Mr. Gimishyan noticed, “Now, when we decided that we are going to the Eurasian Economic Union, all indicators are changed, now they will say that the elections were rigged, and will start throwing stones at Armenia.” Regardless of all this, Mr. Gimishyan is sure, “I would like people who are knowledgeable on art of speaking represent Armenia outside, rather than occupying just seats.” Mr. Gimishyan also touched upon the constitutional reforms, saying that they pursue the goal of reproducing the power.
