Margarit Yesayan, in defense to her colleague, “Let’s agree not to consider any criticism, especially cut off the reality, a criticism and comment. I am not inclined to talk about this kind of groundless and guided criticism,” said RPA MP Margarit Yesayan, in the conversation with “Aravot,” in response to the question that the fall session seems to be unsuccessful for the RA NA delegation, in fact, PACE decided to appoint an MP a rapporteur, who is known for his pro-Azerbaijani sentiments, and the theme of the report is more than impressive, an acute criticism was voiced in PACE addressed to the Head of the Armenian delegation, so whether the Head of the delegation has not worked properly.
Afterwards, Ms. Yesayan made several emphasis, “First of all, there is still no report, there is a decision of preparing a report, and someone is chosen who must work on it. This is a note to all those who at the top of their voice are talking about the failure of the head of our delegation to PACE. Secondly, why people forget that the delegation is not only the head, this delegation staff contains opposition MPs who are pleased with themselves (often unsubstantiated) and they deliver speeches in writing and returning to Armenia, present them as lion hearted. Even if something was done, it was also the fault of these MPs, and then, who said that after enjoying the trip to Strasbourg, they have the right to defame the Head of the delegation in Armenia. This is not only politically incorrect, but also a matter of human description.”
As for the personality of Hermine Naghdalyan, Ms. Yesayan said, “And how many MPs have her experience in working in international organizations, the knowledge of the mechanisms operating in these structures? In addition to the fact that Hermine Naghdalyan was the head of the NA delegation to PACE for years, she was the Head of the Committee of Economic Affairs in the same PACE for more than two years, she is the only politician in Armenia who is the honorable member of PACE. Eventually, Hermine Naghdalyan has just recently become the head of the delegation.”
Margarit Yesayan reminds that the report has not yet been written, there is no report, and ensures that as a full-fledged member of the Council of Europe, we can and will take all measures to frustrate and neutralize this report. “This is also a fight, and even though we do not have the oil-dollars of Azerbaijan, but we have the will and desire and are able to neutralize any step that would harm the peaceful and negotiating settlement of Karabakh conflict. And most importantly, the politics is a process, we, for some reason, are segmenting this process, we are isolating a circle, and accordingly, either voice moan and curse, or be delightful, forgetting that the process is ongoing, and there is no place to stop and stay still. The OSCE Minsk Group is involved in Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, only this format is accepted in the international arena as a platform for solution of the problem. The UN, EU, PACE, European Parliament and all other institutions, with their resolutions, reports and I don’t know what else, do not have and could not have any practical influence on the solution of the problem. The NA delegation to PACE will still have numerous opportunities to give a symmetric and asymmetric answer to Azerbaijan, no need to stay stuck and keep silent on one event but to look forward,” said our interlocutor.
