The creative thinking without patterns is typical to actress Nora Badalyan – artist Stephan Veranyan pair. The result of their joint efforts is “Maria Stuart” interactive solo performances by Schiller was not also an exception in this respect. The pair will perform “Mary Stuart” on November 8-15 at the THESPIS monodrama Festival (Germany).
In the interview with Aravot.am, the actress told that they had played the performance two years ago in the framework of “ARMMONO” one man show international festival. At that time, the German festival director Jolanta Sutowicz liked it and invited them to biannual exhibition. Narine Grigoryan will also attend the same event with the “Dzin. Poem” mono play staged at the Puppet Theater written by Natalie Filion.
Nora Badalyan added that “Maria Stuart” is based on the text and language, and the leading characters are the voice, light and the sounds. She will play on the last day of the festival, and the venue is the former bunker built in 1940’s, which now has turned into a cultural center. The actress believes that it is properly chosen place to transfer Mary Stuart’s tortures and feelings, and to convey the message of the mono play to the destination.
The Armenian language sounds in the performance as the organizers of the festival wanted the Armenian-origin actress plays in Armenian, the pieces of the French language are taken from Maria Stewart’s Sonnets, there is also Latin, because she was a Catholic, and English is the native language of the Queen. By the request of the actress, there is also a piece in German language as the festival is in Germany.
