Political scientist Sergey Minasyan is not surprised at the Crimea-NKR comparisons made by Nikolai Ryzhkov, Co-Chair of the Armenian-Russian Inter-Parliamentary Commission. “Let us not forget that Armenia does not recognize Nagorno-Karabakh as a part of its territory. To the point, in the event that in this spring the leadership of Russia had decided to include Crimea in its composition. Armenia neither recognizes Nagorno-Karabakh as an independent state, nor considers that the Karabakh republic passes to the territory of Armenia,” said Mr. Minasyan. According to him, NKR and Crimea have different statuses. “Such statements have no significance, because the most important factors are the military-political factors, the negotiations process within the Minsk Group,” said the political scientist.
