Avetik Ishkhanyan believes that Kiselyov would have a greater contempt for the people like Andranik Mihranyan.
Last week, on October 29, the Member of the first and second composition of the RF Public Chamber, Andranik Mihranyan, defended General Director of “Rossiya Segodnya” news Agency, Dmitri Kiselyov, at the National Assembly during the round-table discussion on “Armenia. Geopolitical relations” held at the Armenia-Russia parliamentary friendship club, by offending those criticizing Kiselyov. “It shows that there is an abnormal psychology in reality and the national psychology. Even the mist innocent expression are accepted the most abnormal form. I was astounded when a wild and abnormal anti-Kiselyov campaign began here. It is treated like an attitude of idiot and a man of complexes,” he said.
In the conversation with Aravot.am, Chairman of Armenia’s Helsinki Committee, Avetik Ishkhanyan, mentioned, “Andranik Mihranyan is a personality with complexes, because he going to Russia and achieving, in his opinion, some successes, feels himself pitiful that he is an Armenian by origin. He has complexes in with respect and is eager to serve to the Russian society and the government more than the ethnic Russian nationalists, to show that his being Armenian has nothing to do with the matters. This is a manifestation of complex of a primitive and poor man.”
He added that he believes that Andranik Mihranyan is eager to please the government authorities and politicians in Russia, and he will not speak there so as he speaks in Armenia. “He speaks in Armenia, because he considers himself above the Armenian people. Although he is of Armenian origin, but it seems to him that he is risen from the Armenian provinciality, he has achieved great successes, and he reserves the right to give this kind of advice to Armenians.” Avetik Ishkhanyan believes that Andranik Mihranyan will return to Russia and will present what kind of qualifications he has given and will enjoy the pleasure of it. “But he has no idea that the same Russian nationalists, the same Kiselyov will have a greater contempt for those like Andranik Mihranyan. This contempt, unfortunately, will also be extended on us. Andranik Mihranyan confuses the instinct of self-defense of the nations with provincialism, and accepts the threats of imperialistic politicians to assimilate small nations as a normal phenomenon. We tried to preserve our dignity and pride and responded to Kiselyov’s imperialistic ambitions. Well, Kiselyov is yet clear, he is an imperialistic man, but who are you, Andranik Mihranyan?”
