An outdoor advertisement poster of ARMINE brand women’s headscarves is hanging on one of the buildings in a central street of Istanbul, Turkey. The brand carrying the name of an Armenian woman immediately attracted our attention, especially when we heard from the side that the company seems to be called after the name of an Armenian woman. “Aravot” sent an email to the company to find out the “genealogy” of the «Armine» brand name.” The response was quick. It turned out that «AR» translated from Turkish means honor and «MINE» is a name of a woman, eventually, the name has the following meaning: “A woman of honor is coming.”
