Shortly, the 11th South Caucasus Media Conference launched in Georgia, where the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Dunja Mijatović in her opening remarks referred to Azerbaijan. She said, “Sorry, I have to refer to only one country, but I cannot but say. You know me, I cannot pretend that everything is fine, when in reality it is not so,” and spoke about the commenced and continued pressures against journalists in Azerbaijan. Thanking the Azerbaijani counterparts, who came to this conference, Ms. Mijatović said that Azerbaijan is the only country, which “blocks” the journalists and NGO members to participate in this conference. “I do not like it, it makes me sad and unset, and this is a very disturbing phenomenon.”
