November 13,2014 15:10

“Yes, this issue has also been discussed, as well as other issues, around which the cooperation will be continued”, so answered the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia, John Heffern, after the event organized at the YSU under the “NATO Week”, in response to the question of Aravot.am of whether the issue of political prisoners in Armenia, particularly Shant Harutyunyan and his friends, were also discussed at the meeting with the Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Karen Andreasyan.

To the question of the journalist at what stage the issue of the Vorotan cascade transaction is, Mr. Ambassador replied, “We hope that it will be concluded.”

To the question of whether the American army will not march along the central streets of Yerevan on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the World War II, like the agreement reached between RA Defense Minister and his Russian counterpart Sergey Shoygu about the parade of the Russian army, Mr. Heffern responded with laughter that it’s a good question but since currently there are problems with the relations with Russia, it is also necessary to consider this too when answering the question.
