Ahead to the Centennial of the Genocide, we are implementing a variety of events. Representatives of different areas are trying to promote the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide with their works. The Head of the Department of the Armenian Issue and the History of the Armenian Genocide at the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, also PhD in History, Armen Marukyan, presented his book entitled “The Basis and Opportunities of Applying to the International Court for the Armenian Genocide Issue,” which tells about that the time for being silent and waiting are elapsed a long time ago.
Recently, in one of the US most famous concert halls, in the NOKIA Center, Sirusho’s solo concert was held, where the singer “spoke” with the stage decorations emphasizing the Centennial of the Genocide. From the sports fields, too, a few days ago, the WBA world champion Susie Kentikyan’s fight was held in Stuttgart, who winning the Japanese opponent, defended her championship belt and her father, Levon, right in the ring announced that the victory is dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide.
A number of Turkologists and historians assured that there are serious legal basis for the recognition of the Genocide to apply to the International court, one of which is Armen Marukyan’s work, where you can find many facts and present especially to those who deny the truth. Turkologists also appreciate the fact that finally we have begun to not only talk about legal compensation, but also to find scientific justifications. The experts also assure that our efforts would be in vain if we do not have international-level lawyers who are well-known not only in Armenia, but also in the world. The implemented and yet to be implemented events emphasizing the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide, definitely, are many, however, as the experts claim, we should not be limited to them only, whereas in other aspect, unfortunately, we are still not successful.
