Focused on solutions

December 25,2014 12:39

There are many media in Armenia, which I do not like. I have two ways: a/ to write and talk from morning till night about how bad they are and what wrong things they are writing, b/ to show on my own example how, in my understanding, should the journalists and the media work. My example should first be convincing for me and secondly, for the readers and the remaining journalists.

Similarly, if you do not like relationships in other households, then you can endlessly discuss these relationships with your relatives and, of course, to boast inside that you are better. But you can also set up the atmosphere in your family, of which both you and your guests will feel better. The principle is the same: not only to talk about what is bad, but also to put the “good” created by you next to it. If this “good” really presents a quality, then it would prove its viability just as the IBM did over the remaining systems.

This is how I visualize the political fight too, which should not be limited by duty swearing. The opposition parties should first prove the benefits over the ruling party by their structure, customs, intellectual level, more or less pure past and so on. For example, for Armenia it would be better if the opposition political force has a chance to say, “we, unlike the Republicans, are not built around one person, our decisions are made in a collegial way, and there is no cult and apotheosis of a person.”

However, that is not enough. I think a team should be formed, which, even if we do not call it a “shadow government”, then at least be visible by its deeds. Let’s take, for example, the education or culture, where the situation is unsatisfactory (unlike our politicians, I do not think that it is a secondary problem). Stating it, the opposition party also informs the public that it has this-and-this person in his circles who is not stained by his past activities and has certain ideas about given aspect and a team that can implement these ideas. This, I think, is a more effective way than the race of stiff swearwords to the officials.

I have such expectations, for example, from PAP congress planned for the beginning of next year. If it’s going to be just an “indoor rally”, then its energy conversion efficiency (ECE) is zero. All the words inflaming the population have been long spoken about. Ideas and persons are necessary who are able to offer solutions. Solutions not at the level of “red lines” and speedometers populism, but truly systemic solutions.

The example of all famous people and companies in the world shows that they have reached success when not they masticate their problems, but are focused on the solutions. It is probably the same about the states.
