World Bank predicts that in 2017, Armenia’s GDP would be higher than in Azerbaijan

Among EaEU member countries, this year, the highest GDP index is in Armenia, it is expected to be 3.3 percent. Such forecast is made by the World Bank (WB). In 2015, the GDP in Belarus will be 1.8 percent, in Kazakhstan – 1.8 percent, too. Neighboring Georgia and Azerbaijan, which are not EaEU member countries, will have a higher GDP. As asserted by WB, this year, Azerbaijan will record 4.4 percent GDP, Georgia – 5 percent. In 2015, Ukraine being in a war situation will have a negative dynamics of GDP – 2.3 percent. As presented by the World Bank, Ukraine has recorded a 8.2 percent of GDP in 2014.

According to the same prediction source, Ukraine will register positive dynamics on GDP only in 2016 and GDP will reach 3.5 percent, while in 2017 – 3.8 percent. Armenia will also register a growth in GDP, but with a slight difference.

In 2016, the country’s GDP will be 3.7 percent, in 2017 – 4.1 percent. The World Bank predicts that in 2017, the GDP in Azerbaijan will fall by reaching 3.8 percent from recorded 4.1 percent in 2016. By the World Bank experts’ estimates, the paces of the economic growth in European developing countries and in Central Asia has significantly dropped to 2.4 percent from expected 3.7 percent registered in 2013, which, according to the experts is due to the Ukraine-Russia conflict. The pace of the economic growth in Russia, last year, has been slowed down by 0.7 percent. Although, the World Bank experts show that the rapid decline in oil prices has made Russia to develop industrial production and the export.

    Not GDP but GDP Growth rate. They are completely different
