Yesterday, the second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan was again interviewed. Basically, he has said right things, unless, of course, we go by the fact of he is the one saying the right things. This interview will be discussed in the next 2-3 weeks by the second president’s adherers and “ill-wisher”, while the politicians will make predictions about Kocharyan’s future plans. However, I think that today there are a lot more important theme of what is happening on our border. Let’s be honest with ourselves: the enemy’s provocation not only discontinue, but will become more frequent and widespread.
I have some assumptions about who “pecks” this situation and I cannot see anything common between Gyumri people’s fair revolt (how did they dare to organize a protest in front of the Russian consulate?) and the activation of the Azerbaijanis.
It is not possible to avoid noticing also that our war hotbed is associated with the ongoing wars in the Middle East and Ukraine. In this regard, it is very important to know how the world will respond to the Armenian-Azerbaijani border incidents. But it is also a subject for a separate analysis.
What I want to say here is that the situation is critical, and our authorities, non-authorities, former and incumbent presidents, the opposition and the public, without getting into panic, without embedding extra distrust in people, should display an adequate approach to the situation. Apparently, the above-mentioned institutions, maintaining the natural controversies, should also think together about how to increase our defense capabilities.

Needless to say that it is not only the task of the army. In the 21st century, it is also the task of the state governance, economy, diplomacy, propaganda and many other sectors. It is time, it seems to me, to review their structure and orientation, given the obvious changed situation on the borders of Armenia and Artsakh. If there will be no full-scale war, very good, and if it happens, we need to be ready for it too.
“The greatest mistake is to call this war a “Karabakh” war. This is the War of All-Armenians. Definitely, the last one,” once wrote Vazgen Sargsyan. Indeed, this is the case, and this unfinished war should be conducted not only by Armenians. Recently, one of my interlocutors suggested to quite the concept of “Diaspora”. There was a Diaspora when there was no Armenian statehood, now we must talk about the Armenian communities outside of Armenia. In case of such an approach, it seems to me, it will not be difficult to find material and professional resources that will increase the level of security in our country.
As for mutual rebukes and intrigues by politicians, they are normal. Let them be busy with, if you have nothing else to do.
