Eduard Grigoryan, sentenced to life imprisonment for the October 27 case, is an active Facebook social network user since 2014. He is even disseminating his articles and “revelations” with regard to October 27. Aravot.am asked Spokesperson for the Penitentiary Department Gor Ghlechyan whether he is aware that Eduard Grigoryan is an active user of social networks and whether the life-sentenced prisoners are allowed to use social networks. “It is a mediated action. Using his rights, he is entitled to exercise his rights attributed by the Constitution, including having an access to telephone calls and correspondence. He can convey his thoughts in a letter to someone who can open a social webpage on his name and post comments,” replied Gor Ghlechyan. But not everything, though mediated, may appear on Eduard Grigoryan’s page, because, according to Gore Ghlechyan, this page is under control. “We are always watchful and always keep this moment under control.” Mr. Ghlechyan assured that Eduard Grigoryan does not have the technical possibilities, which could enable him to run his own page.
