Responsibility of free choice

February 05,2015 18:14

If I am mistaken, I should blame no one except me for this mistake.

English poet of the 19th century William Henley wrote, “I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul.” This is true for the nations who both have sea and who do not have it. Indeed, it is typical for a human nature to complain about the circumstances, which he has created himself. In my previous analysis, I had written about the parliamentary elections in Greece, in which the extremist leftwing won. During the pre-election period, they were promising to give up with the saving mode of social expenses and to refuse paying the 320 billion euros, which Greece owes to the European Union.

Some of the readers commented that without the EU and its drachma, Greece lived very well. Suppose, it was so. But let me ask you, has anyone forced Greece to join the EU, or it was the country’s government (governments) decision, for which, it made numerous steps? Had anyone imposed these same governments to take credit? If I had taken one million drams loan from the bank to repair my apartment, but instead of doing the repair work I have gone to the restaurant every day, and have made my family face a hardship, after all, do I have the right to find an excuse that I was living very well without this loan? It is very similar to the rumors about speedometers in Armenia, “again another black paper came.” Had anyone put a gun to your temple and said, “drive on 100 km/h when it is written 60lm/h”? Whom do you complain about? Driving fast was your free choice, you have received your “kef” from it, now be so kind to pay for it. (I know that there are nuances, exceptions, traps, etc., but in this case, we are talking about indisputable and “classical” cases).

As soon as the men begin discussing the subject of speedometers at the table, you should know that they would leave the table with a severe headache. The same is true when the phrase “Oh, this person gets on my nerves” becomes a motive of the conversation. As soon as you start taking part in the discussion and dust his coat, you should know that you make your nerves a “food” to this pleasure. Here also, everything is in your hands, you are the master of your nerves, an no one else but you. Do not allow any unpleasant man approach a kilometer closer to your nerves, take and throw away him from your head, and he will not have anything to eat. And help the one in front of you to behave exactly the same way by not “giving way” to such rumors. Some of its version are, “How I am sick and tired of this serial (song, website, newspaper, author, etc.).” But you are not married to it, you have not taken a vow that you are going to watch all the episodes of the series every night, read this author, or listen to this song. Doing or not doing it is within the “competence” of your entire will, just as smoking, drinking, drugs, or not doing all of it. If it is not a part of your job responsibilities, then look, listen and read what you find enjoyable.

Now, about the Facebook “viruses”. Adult people, often with higher education and higher intellect, complain that they are infected with these viruses. (The matter is about getting infected rather than appearing on your page, this task is easy to solve). Has anyone caught your forefinger and forced you to make a left click of the mouse twice to open the pornographic or sadistic video? Was it interesting to you? Were you going to have an aesthetic enjoyment? Well, then, know that everything has its price. As a rule, there is one person guilty and responsible for all your small and big misfortunes. And this person, as they say, are you.
