“Unless there is an official report, hardly we can be sure for a hundred percent that it is a reality”, said Turkologist Ruben Safrastyan, in the conversation with Aravot.am, referring to the information published by Today’s Zaman, which said that the Turkish government had canceled the events to commemorate the centennial of the battle of Gallipoli. However, the Turkologist believes that it is possible that no official release would be.

“Because if they had done it and have postpones the events, then it means that they have got a very heavy blow, a shameful blow, and the reason probably is that the leaders of the countries have rejected the invitation,” says Ruben Safrastyan. To the question of Aravot.am of whether it is possible that the information is true, the Turkologist replied, “I think it is possible.” To our observation that since the morning, discussions are held in different regions that this is the subsequent “bait” by the Turkish propaganda machine, Mr. Safrastyan replied, “It could be so, but I do not think so.”
