“Today, when the relations of the West and particularly, the United States are strained with Russia, the only link, where the partnership remains is the universe and Artsakh,” said the first Ombudsman of Armenia Larisa Alaverdyan, today, at the “Pastark” club, referring to the call addressed to the Armenian side by the US State Department pertaining to the return of the “Azerbaijani prisoners” to the government of Azerbaijan.
Larisa Alaverdyan considered this call of the US a parity approach, according to her, the USA behaves itself in the format of the Madrid principles. “Despite the criticism, the MG, however, remains a distinct factor and does not allow a large-scale war. The Azerbaijani subversive acts are carried out in response to the Minsk Group activities.” In her words, Armenian should give an official response to the US State Department’s call. “The public is waiting for an official response. After all, America has come up with a proposal, which must be answered. No matter we are weak inside, anyway, we have found ourselves at the forefront of the next clash of civilizations. I think that we should clarify what is the status of the subversives and by which clause of the International Convention we should hand them over.”
