Until the year 2013, Armenia remained one of the leaders in terms of Eurointegration. Armenia was one of the leading countries pertaining to the implementation of the commitments assumed at the Prague Summit. Announced the coordinator of the fourth group of the EaP CSF, also member of “Heritage” party Hovsep Khurshudyan, today, at the session of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly hosted in Yerevan. He noted that after the change of the foreign political vector, when Armenia decided to join the Russia-led Customs and later the Eurasian Economic Union, Armenia’s fulfillment of its obligations has been substantially deteriorated.
However, among the six countries of the EU Eastern Partnership, Armenia still remains to be the fourth. “It’s pretty interesting that based on the three main measurements, Armenia has stronger position for approximation, i.e., in terms of the European standards in conformity with institutes and legislation and in the framework of the EaP assumed obligations, however, the management and approximation measurement indicates that the application is too far from the desired situation. Especially this year’s indicators, I’m sorry, but they will be worse, from the beginning of the year we have negative signals both in terms of human rights violations and inequality on the political arena. Literally, a few days ago we saw how the ruling party settled old scores with the second by quantity parliamentary force and forced its leader to abandon the politics,” said Hovsep Khurshudyan.
