Today, the Euronest PA Committee on Economic Integration, Legal Approximation and Convergence with EU Policies hosted in Yerevan voted the draft report on “Infrastructural Cooperation between the EU and the Eastern Partnership Countries: road, rail and air transport joint projects.” The RA NA deputy Mher Shahgeldyan was the co-speaker of the report. During the discussions, a number of changes were offered to make in the report, which were put to a vote.
Prior to voting, Mher Shahgeldyan presented his position, especially regarding No. 11 and announced that they are against it. This change was offered by the Azerbaijan delegate. In Mher Shahgeldyan;s words, the “No. 11 amendment is not acceptable, it is of another field and is not consistent with the report. We are against this amendment. It refers to the occupation and the Nagorno-Karabakh problem. We are against it.” Almost everyone voted against (there were only 2 abstaining votes) the Azerbaijan’s proposal and it was not passed and rejected.
