“This issue requires the utmost caution and targeted approach because, unfortunately, the conflicts have the logic of their own resolution,” announced the Head of the Armenian Delegation Artak Zakaryan at the 4th plenary session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly. The resolution on “Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine and peaceful settlement” presented by the member of the Ukrainian delegation and co-chairman of the Assembly Boris Tarasyuk was discussed. In Artak Zakaryqn’s words, the Armenian delegation perhaps is the only one that does not approach this question with certainty. He stressed that Russia is Armenia’s strategic partner and a lot of Armenians reside in Ukraine. “It has always been a very sensitive issue for Armenia and we have repeatedly expressed our concern.” Artak Zakaryan expressed an opinion that Ukraine should be resolved in the context of a broad and open dialogue, based on negotiations and in the UN framework.
