At the request of “Aravot”, referring to Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s project of the “message addressed to the international community by Armenia on the centennial of the Armenian Genocide,” David Shahnazaryan noted that unfortunately, it cannot become an official viewpoint as by joining the EaEU, we have ceded our sovereignty and security to the Russian Federation, and some political parties, including the ANC, are also more faithful and selfless advocates of this policy than the RA government, and the outcome is natural – deviation towards the “Claims”.
“The first president’s project is based on the concept of security of Armenia and the foreign policy, by which the first government authorities of Armenia were guided, which resulted in all military and diplomatic achievements in the Karabakh war. I agree with the project provisions of the first president’s message. With only one consideration, I have another viewpoint regarding one of the provisions mentioned in clause 13 of the project message pertaining to holding a referendum for defining the future status of Nagorno-Karabakh,” noted David Shahnazaryan.
