Fascinated by “Led Zeppelin”, “Beatles” and “Queen” since aged-3 and “advanced” in jazz since aged-7, Tigran Hamasyan is the renowned jazz pianist and composer in the world today. In the conversation with “Aravot”, the 28-year-old Tigran Hamasyan said that after living in the US over 10 years and the solo concerts in different countries he has settled down in his homeland. On March 24, for the first time in the Armenian reality, he performed at the National Opera Theatre together with the Yerevan State Chamber Choir under the spiritual music (the repertoire ranges from Mashtots, Narekatsi and Shnorhali up to Komitas) in the framework of the project entitled “Luys i Luso”. In Tigran Hamasyan’s words, jazz is the supreme level of the improvisation art. The Gyumri-origin musician has not only returned to his sources, but also has made a family with again Gyumri-origin pantomime Elena Petrosyan.
