Hilbert Keith Chesterton made of a very acute observation concerning Saint Francis.
-“Man will not jump into the snow for an idea or trend; he will not stay hungry for abstract ideas, even the best ones. But he will overcome hunger and cold for a completely different reason: if a man is in love.”
As it was referred to a Catholic saint, it is clear what love meant the English writer. On the 100th birthday anniversary of the worst tragedy in the history of our nation, I think of this kind of love.
The events seem also to develop in this direction, starting from the Vatican liturgy ending with “System of a down`s” concert. A rise was given to this by another Catholic, also named Francis: the Pope, and the repetition of names, as you know, is not a coincidence. The Pope spoke about the Armenian Genocide, Nazism and Stalinism, not Turkish, German or Soviet peoples, and his message did not contain any venom or hatred, on the contrary, there was love, first of all, love for the truth.

Yesterday’s concert was also an expression of love: mutual love of young and the musicians who were ready to get wet in the rain for a few hours. It may sound strange, but the presence of such a large mass listening to rock music also speaks of the Armenians potential. Because to listen to Tatul and to mourn while eating kebab and drinking is one thing: to listen to good music by thousands of people, another thing.
In general, if to have an objective look to the events of these days, then you cannot help but notice that the environment is healthy. Of course, there are also those who complain, but without these people one cannot imagine the Armenian reality. Healthy, of course, is our brotherly love among the people of the country, I think it’s healthy that we respect the innocent victims and we do not go into mourning and lamentation, but we think of the future objectives of our nation.
It is clear that this situation will not last long. But to get another proof that we can in principle be such, apparently was worth of it.
