Our readers, perhaps, remember that the Armenian Genocide condemning resolution, in contrast to the information provided by various prestigious international media, has not yet been passed in the Bundestag, Germany. The discussion of the resolution was postponed indefinitely. Yesterday, a small discussion was held in the Committee on Foreign Relations of Bundestag regarding the resolution. “Aravot” was informed about this from our compatriot in Germany responsible for the website dedicated to the centenary of the genocide, also a member of the Genocide Recognition Committee, Varujan Babakhan.
Mr. Babakhan informed us that one of the Board Committee members for the recognition of the Genocide has contacted the Foreign Relations Secretariat in Bundestag informing that responsible persons were selected for the elaboration of the three projects, whose names are not voiced, and the public will further on be not informed of their identity. The resolution after being elaborated will be returned to the factions of the parties represented in the Bundestag, be edited, developed and again returned to the Foreign Relations Committee, where the final and the only resolution will be prepared, and by the final advice of the Committee, it will be returned to Bundestag. Anyway, no date of when the issue will be finally returned to Bundestag is not mentioned. Mr. Babakhan noted that the Genocide Recognition Committee is asking the citizens to send a letter to the factions of the Coalition, the actions of the Greens and the Lefts with a request to speed up the process.
